pretty normal really...
A follow up to yesterdays tale: My friend went to visit the aforementioned Indian-English (i'll just skip over the shy asian/english reference that the Brits like to use to refer to people of obvious East Indian decent. I'm sure i'll have something to say shortly about the totally convoluted ways people nowadays use to reference each other by race, creed and colour) mental case at the hospital yesterday. This time he was not allowed to see her because she was 'in isolation'.

He finally discovered her doctor who spoke english and who explained to him that she was getting violent with the other patients.

My first thought here was; well, if i were locked in a Czech mental home for a few days i would become a little violent too. Shit, just trying to go shopping at the supermarket has me entertaining evil thoughts of dropping heavy bottles of tomato sauce on old people and ramming rude, sour-faced, middle-aged women into dairy products.

Anyway.

The doctors have been trying a variety of different cocktails of drugs on her to...to what? Figure out the problem? Keep her calm? Keep her happy?..What?... Regardless, they had to switch from the old brew which was fucking up her speech...Apparently there is a psychiatric drug that exists that will cause her to speak Czech.

The doctor did, however, shed light on how she ended up in the loony bin. Apparently she had been found at the Castle verbally attacking one of the ceremonial guards – whose job it is to wear a silly hat and stand perfectly still for long periods of time in a small box – who she thought was my friend. The assumption here is that she thought he was ignoring her and so she freaked out, and never quite freaked back again.

To tell you the truth, who hasn't been tempted to have a go at one of these guys? It's like the guy dressed up to look like some animal at the children's playground; who doesn't want to dive tackle him from a running start, just to see what he'll do?

Who doesn't want to do something nefarious to these ceremonial guard guys, so determined to keep a straight face and look directly ahead? They're just lucky i don't carry around a taser...
